Project overview / objectives
This project focuses on the promotion of inclusive and effective social protections and safety nets during and post-COVID-19 in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Tunisia. Social safety nets are interpreted differently in each country. Some countries focus on poverty targeting programs, while others employ subsidy schemes and unemployment/labour benefits. The research explores how these can ensure inclusiveness and effectiveness within each country and across the four countries, to eventually inform a regional perspective.
