Project overview / objectives
This project focuses on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on livelihoods in selected African countries, with special emphasis on vulnerable groups. Specifically, the project will evaluate macroeconomic consequences of the pandemic (including the impact on food security, malnutrition, and hunger) and the gendered socio-economic impacts of the pandemic. It will further aim to use the evidence to build the capacity of researchers and institutions in target countries and build a network of stakeholders that can continue to track the pandemic’s impacts and design practical and gender transformative solutions.
