WEBINAR: Socio-economic impact of Covid-19 among the youth in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda

Organisation for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa (OSSREA), in collaboration with the Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Association (CCRDA) in Ethiopia, the University of Makerere in Uganda and, OSSREA Kenya Chapter in Kenya, are organising a regional dissemination webinar on the findings of the research study on socio-economic impact of Covid-19 among the youth in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda.

The research study is conducted as part of a research project entitled “Covid-19 and the Youth Question in Africa: Impact, Response, and Protection Measures in the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Region” that is being implemented in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda.

Researchers from the three countries will present:

  • Findings of the research on the socio-economic impact of Covid-19 among the youth in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda.
  • The impacts of Covid-19 based on access to basic needs, employment, income loss, food security, shocks and coping mechanism, safety nets in the lens of gender, and other socio-demographic factors and how these findings should inform policies for meaningful youth engagement and social accountability.
